I, Brad Bobb, am the sole owner of Bobb Financial Incorporated
My journey started at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where I graduated with a degree in Business Finance. After graduating, I went to work for Country Insurance and Financial Services as an insurance agent and financial advisor. I have also had the opportunity to work for a large regional bank as a financial consultant. While working for these large companies, I realized that the corporate world may not be the best fit for me. Each of the companies I worked for placed heavy emphasis on product sales and sales benchmarks. Even though I met all of my sales goals and contests, I started to think there was a better way to serve my clients. Enter Bobb Financial. In 2007, I opened up my own practice, Bobb Financial. I believe that being objective is the only way to serve my clients, and the best way to do that is by being independent.
One commitment I make to my clients is to always be learning. Many parts of financial planning are constantly changing, and I take it upon myself to further my education annually. In 2016, I obtained my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. The CFP® is widely recognized in the industry as the top designation for financial planners. The CFP® curriculum involves all areas of financial planning and CFP® registrants are obligated to act as a fiduciary for their clients.
Brad Bobb's fiduciary obligation is governed by:
Some people think of financial planning as a very complicated process, and are intimidated by the thought. I feel that an important part of my job is to make the process easy and understandable for my clients. While a lot of my work may be complicated, I do my best to make the complicated issues as simple as possible.
Who needs a plan? In short, almost everyone! Working with a Certified Financial Planner™ can be just like having your own Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You are the CEO calling the shots but you rely on your CFO for information to make decisions. If something about finances comes up, you call your CFO!
You are the CEO and I'm the CFO, or to use a sports analogy, I am your general manager and you are the owner. I work for you by directing operations and providing advice. You, the owner, have the ultimate say in all decisions.
I need input from you. I can help you with many aspects of your life, but I need two really important things from you.
I need to know what your goals are. Goals such as why are we investing money? What are we saving for? What do you want to accomplish in the next two, five, and ten years? These are things that will change many times throughout your life, and when they do we will adjust your planning accordingly.
The second thing I need from you is information. I love personal finance and helping clients achieve their goals, but to do that I need my clients to provide me with accurate information. Without information provided by my clients, I can't do my job very well. The good news is that a lot of the information that I need will only be needed once. We have software that helps us get the information we need on an ongoing basis.
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who acts as a fiduciary for my clients. As a fiduciary, I have a legal obligation to act in the best interest of my clients.
At Bobb Financial, our process can be broken down into the following steps:
-Getting to know each other
-Monitoring your plan.
There are a number of details involved in the process such as getting organized, investment analysis, tax planning, estate planning and more.
If you are anything like me, it won’t do any good to receive a thirty page book or stack of papers with your recommendations. In order to simplify things, I provide a one page action plan to my clients. The one page plans are always backed by many pages of data for clients that are more detail oriented.
One thing that I always want to do at Bobb Financial is enjoy my client relationships. Even though we serve a variety of clients across all age groups, one quality our clients share is that they are good people we enjoy working with. While we do have some specific niches that we serve, we look for two qualities above all else - we want to work with good people that want to enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship. We have found that both parties need to enjoy the relationship for it to be a good long term fit.
If you fit the above qualities then we would love to talk and see if we are a good fit. If you fit the above qualities and happen to be be a business owner, looking for college planning, a federal employee, or a young medial professional, we have additional expertise in your industry.
